2020 Kia Forte Reviews

The new Kia Forte makes an impression on the market with its sporty styling, slick interior design, and class-leading warranty. It's also one of the most affordable and reliable cars available in this segment.

Price: $20,950 - $26,500 (including destination charge)

The Kia Forte offers comfortable riding and ample cargo space. The trunk is one of the largest in its class, allowing you to haul large items without sacrificing your seat position or rear legroom.

The interior of the car is sleek and elegant, with well-designed layouts that include ample space in the front and rear. It is also simple to customize and find important features using the available infotainment systems, which have a responsive touch screen.

Exterior: The Forte's design is a combination of Kia's Stinger-inspired, sporty designs and more conservative, traditional looks. Its sleek profile, narrow hood and low roofline are designed to make it easier for people to see out of the car when driving.

The compact sedan is available in FE, LXS, and EX trims. Base model is equipped with a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine of 147 horsepower that can reach 60 mph in just 8.7 seconds.

Performance enthusiasts will enjoy the standard Forte GT’s 1.6-liter turbocharged fourcylinder, which produces 201 horsepower. Although it does not have the same power output as the Honda Civic Si it is still a welcome addition to the Forte's power.

Driving performance: The Forte is easy to drive and offers precise steering. Upper-trim models have a three-mode steering system, which allows you to adjust the effort required to maneuver traffic.

Safety: Kia Forte's active safety features include forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking and lane keep assistance. It earned four stars in the NHTSA's crash test and a five-star rating from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety.

Driver comfort: A spacious and comfortable interior allows for a 6 foot passenger to be comfortably seated in the Forte. It's also among the most spacious compact sedans in its class.

Ride: The Forte may not be as smooth on cracked pavement as other vehicles in its category. Its standard suspension can feel bumpy and stiff on uneven roads.

It's not as exciting to drive as the Civic Si, but the Forte's engine and dual-clutch transmission are more than adequate for everyday driving.

Reliability: The Forte is built in the United States, and it comes with Kia's industry-leading ten-year/100,000-mile powertrain warranty. It's also covered by five years of bumper-to-bumper protection and 24-hour roadside assistance.

For 2020, the Forte adds a pair of special edition versions -- the FE GT and the EX Special Edition. Both versions offer a variety unique features, such as two-tone Red leatherette upholstery and an upgraded premium infotainment program. The EX Special Edition includes a gloss black spoiler, and a power sunroof. It also gains a 10-speaker premium audio system and a wireless device charging pad.
